Labors of Love Podcast hosted by Hafeeza Ture. This evening I have the privilege of speaking with Kalisha “Kali” King. Kali is the founder and CEO of Divine Peace Doulas, a company that provides doula services to birthing parents in the Northern Virginia, Washington D.C., and Maryland areas. Kali has been a doula for the last 25 years. As a, now nationally certified Doula, Kali also holds certifications as a childbirth educator, lactation counselor, peer counselor, dancing for birth instructor and is a rising prenatal yoga instructor. Kali and Divine Peace Doulas have captured the attention of those who seek the finest quality of advocacy.

Kali’s roster of birthing parents has no bounds, and she has advocated for all. Divine Peace Doulas provides evidence-based information, pain management techniques, and motivational coaching.

During her career Kali has established a reputation for building relationships with parents that last long past the time that an average doula might.

Kali's journey as a doula stemmed from her own traumatic birth experiences with her own children. Kali had nobody to educate her on making informed decisions for her own care and that of infants. What pushed her to become certified as a doula was the experience her daughter had during her pregnancy.

Kali earned her Doula certification from National Black Doulas Association and has a monthly Podcast called Mama Doula & More.
